From 6 to 24 May 2021, the Russian Center ofthe European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture held a series of openlessons dedicated to the exhibition "Art in War, War in Art". Theexhibition is currently held at the Aircraft Gallery of the European Foundationof Slavic Literature and Culture and is dedicated to the 80th anniversary ofthe outbreak of World War II. The events were held in small groups, taking intoaccount antiquated measures.
The exposition of the exhibition presents 97 graphic and pictorial works of masters of the academic Soviet school of finearts, drawings of Japanese and German prisoners of war from the stockcollection of the Yelabuga State Historical, Architectural and ArtMuseum-Reserve (Russia, Republic of Tatarstan, Yelabuga).
The purpose of the event is to form students'interest in military history through the visual arts.
The organizers, through the presentation andvideos, introduced the participants to the city-museum of Yelabuga. The storyabout the history of the creation of paintings by artists Alexei Glandin, YuriNeprintsev, German prisoner of war Kurt Roiberg, whose works are exhibited atthe exhibition, was received with sincere emotions and interest.
“Such events are necessary and useful for studentsstudying Russian as a foreign language. To learn a language, you need to get toknow the people who speak this language”- one of the listeners expressed heropinion.
Taking into account the active interest and desireto participate in such events, not only for children, but also for adults, theRussian Center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Cultureplans to expand the list of events held within the framework of the exhibition:open lessons for groups of different ages, creative meetings, linguisticquizzes.
