On January 23, 2023, the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture and the Ukrainian Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture hosted the opening of an exhibition on the theme: “Personality. Creation. Life". The exhibition is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the book edition of the Life of Remarkable People series.The "ZhZL" series is a historical and biographical chronicle dedicated to people whose actions and ideas have changed, are changing and will change this world for the better. Books from the famous series have become an integral part of the lives of people who read.
The publications of the ZHZL series tell the reader about the stages of life and work of writers, poets and prominent figures of culture, science, their associates and friends, as well as the most important events of Russian history. This is an encyclopedia of human images and psychological types, it teaches philosophy and develops empathy for different people, stories, destinies.
The authors have made an invaluable contribution to the formation of the self-consciousness of many generations, and we remember them with gratitude. The "ZhZL" series lives, develops, and is constantly replenished for more than a decade. This is the greatest bestseller of the 20th century and the present century. Humanity has and will always have personalities that contemporaries and descendants can be proud of. This is what we wanted to tell our guests.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by guests of the foundation, compatriots with children, students of language courses. We introduced our guests to the history of the creation of the book series, authors and interesting biographies of famous people. The guests of the exhibition took the opportunity to borrow several books of this series from our library for reading.
