On the 24th of November 2016 in Bratislava was held a round table with participation of heads of institutions of culture and tourism from different regions of Russia and Slovakia on cooperation between the two countries.
The round table was held at the Russian Center of Science and Culture, with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Slovakia. It was attended by representatives of public organizations, ministries, administrations of regions and areas, and also by private companies in the field of culture and tourism.
From the Slovak side were made presentations of Kosice, Trenčín, Trnava, Žilina, Nitra, Prešov, Bratislava and Banska Bistritsa regions. Representatives of Dudince, Brusno, Piestany, Trenchanki Teplicy and Luchky resorts talked about the possibilities of treatment and rest.
The Director of A.S. Pushkin museum in Brodzyany and the head of Kutuzov museum in the Rishnevtse village talked about their expositions and opportunities for cooperation with the Russian museums.
From the Russian side were representatives of cultural institutions of the Republic of Mordovia, Murmansk, Astrakhan, Penza, Leningrad and Tula regions, and also from Kineshma, Novokuznetsk, Syzran and Bryansk. Director of the Cultural Department of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region - Yugra urged panelists to work closely together and to exchange the information.
Very strong impression was made by the presentation of Karachay-Cherkessia State historical-cultural and natural reserve-museum, in which there are beautiful mountains with peaks of Dombai and Elbrus. Location of the Reserve on the paths of the ancient Silk Road determined the cultural development of the region and its Caucasian colouring.
Interesting presentations were made by representatives of Russian museums. Leaders of the "House-Museum of Chekhov" in Taganrog, literary and musical museum "Villa Chaliapin" in Kislovodsk, Lermontov Museum-Reserve "Tarkhany" museum of memory of Marina Tsvetaeva in Elabuga, Astrakhan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, Ethnography and landscape museum-reserve of Kostroma Regional museum of the city of Syzran reported on their activities and invited to participate in the literary and music festivals. Presentation of the representatives of museums were adorned with luxurious booklets, souvenirs, and even singing of folk songs.
Chief editor of the Russian-speaking compatriots magazine "Together" N. Yadryshnikova presented magazine and invited the round table participants to cooperate. Director of the Saratov Academic Theatre of Young Spectator suggested to show children's plays in Slovakia.
At the round table it has been widely presented libraries of the two countries. Representatives of the State Scientific Library in Banská Bystrica, Slovak National Library in Martin, the University Library in Bratislava, told about their activities. Russian Libraries were presented by Centralized Library System of Taganrog, Kineshemskaya City Centralized Library System, Leningrad Regional Children's Library, Tula Regional Universal Scientific Library, and others. Library experts of two countries spoke on the "same language".
Executive Director of the European Fund of Slavic Literature and Culture, Head of Russian Centre - A. Bushuyev took a part in the round table, told the participants about the fund's mission, offered cooperation and exchanged contacts.
Participants also discussed the issues of development and investment, transport and visa support. The discussion was attended by Slovak media, representatives of the Slovak Radio and Television, the Slovak news agency TASR.
The discussion ended with a cup of tea and socializing on the sidelines. There was a friendly atmosphere, participants were joking, singing and admired the extraordinary capabilities of Russia and Slovakia in the field of culture and tourism.
