Dear friends!The European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture and the youth amateur theater Break invite you to a literary festival of Russian classics, which will take place on December 18-19, 2023 at 11.00 in the Aircraft Gallery (Ivanska cesta 30/B), Bratislava.
In their performance based on the work of Alexander Nikolaevich Ostrovsky “Profitable Place”, the theater actors together with you will reflect on the questions that confront us all at a certain moment in life. What is more important: principles or love? What to do if your beliefs make your neighbor suffer? Everyone answers them differently.
Although the entertaining comedy of 1856 takes place in Tsarist Russia, director Mikhail Tomasi experimented with the set design, taking the characters of the play back to the 1980s. After all, the themes of corruption, bribery, education and morality have not changed over time. Only the scenery and people have changed.
The event will take place within the framework of the project “The Golden Age of Russian Culture” with the support of the KULT MINOR Foundation (Fond na podporu kultúry národnostných menšín), Slovakia.
