On December 1, 2023, the literary hour “The Great Spirit. Great Genius”, dedicated to the life and work of the great Russian writer L.N. Tolstoy.The event, which took place as part of the educational project “Light of Yasnaya Polyana,” was attended by teachers and students of the gymnasium named after. Ivan Horvat (Bratislava), representatives of public organizations.
The interactive communication format of the meeting made it possible to discuss interesting facts from the life of the great writer in more detail, ask questions and get answers. For some time, those present became spectators: on the big screen they peered with great interest at the unique documentary footage of the video chronicle, which captured Leo Tolstoy and his entourage, in particular the doctor and friend L.N. Tolstoy Dusan Makovitsky is a native of Slovakia from the city of Ruzomberok.
At the end of the event, participants enthusiastically answered quiz questions based on the pages of Tolstoy’s biography. The winners received a unique publication as a reward - a book in Russian and Slovak languages “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign”, published by the EFSPiK together with the public organization “Slavica” and sweet gifts.
The meeting ended with a review of the banner exhibition “The Light of Yasnaya Polyana”, provided by the State Museum-Estate of L.N. Tolstoy "Yasnaya Polyana".
