On January 28, a creative drawing workshop titled 'Create Your Own Dragon' took place at the European Slavic Literature and Culture Foundation.
Children learned to draw this year's symbol – a dragon. The dragon holds a special place in Eastern mythology, symbolizing strength, wisdom, and good fortune. In Western fairy tales, dragons typically snatch princesses and protect valuable treasures. Russian fairy tales, however, have their own dragons, such as Chudo Yudo or Zmei Gorynych. They can play both villainous and heroic roles, serving as loyal companions to mighty heroes or guardians of beautiful maidens. It all depends on the fairy tale. For the workshop participants, the dragon became a symbol of joy crafted with their own hands..
