European Foundation of Slavic Literacy and Culture – Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of Victory over Nazi Germany

The European Foundation of Slavic Literacy and Culture (Slavfond) is actively preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory over Nazi Germany by implementing a project aimed at preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War and passing it on to future generations. As part of this initiative, the foundation’s official website (www.slavfond.eu) publishes monthly materials highlighting key events and significant moments that contributed to the Victory in 1945.

Each month, new pages are added to the website, providing a detailed chronological account of the Soviet army’s progress. This offers a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of that time through photographs and event chronicles, as reflected in historical documents. The project’s materials are based on excerpts from the book The Great Patriotic War: An Illustrated Chronicle by I.I. Bondarenko and D.V. Klimov. This book presents a vivid narrative of wartime events, supported by historical records and images that reveal the scale and tragedy of those years in greater depth.

One of Slavfond’s key activities is publishing. The foundation produces books dedicated to various aspects of World War II and explores significant historical events that are not always covered in school textbooks. Slavfond’s publications contribute to preserving and disseminating historical truth. Each book not only recounts important wartime episodes but also helps younger generations better understand the legacy of those who fought for their country’s freedom and independence.

The website’s publications serve as an important resource not only for researchers and historians but also for bilingual school students, university students, and anyone interested in studying the history of the Great Patriotic War.

For more information and access to these materials, visit the official Slavfond website at www.slavfond.eu, where you can explore the monthly publications and order books from the foundation’s library.
