The World of the Russian Soul in the Art of Evgeny Romashko

The European Foundation for Slavic Literacy and Culture continues its work in the field of visual arts and the organization of art exhibitions.
Evgeny Romashko is not only a talented artist but also an active participant in the work of our foundation. He was among those who were involved in the creation of the European Foundation for Slavic Literacy and Culture and remains an important figure within it. As a guest of the foundation, he organized exhibitions, conducted masterclasses, and inspired colleagues and young painters.

Evgeny Viktorovich Romashko is an outstanding Russian painter whose work reveals the depth and beauty of Russian nature, reflecting the subtle inner world that can be called the true embodiment of the "Russian soul." Born in 1962 in Zaporizhzhia, he journeyed from being a student at the T.G. Shevchenko Republican Art School to becoming a People's Artist of the Russian Federation and an academician of the Russian Academy of Arts. His art is a hymn to realistic landscape painting, where each brushstroke conveys a love for the homeland, its vast expanses, and unique atmosphere.

Romashko's work has found a response in our AIRCRAFT gallery, where one of his exhibitions was held. The exhibition became a real event for art lovers, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in the world of his landscapes—ranging from snowy plains to blooming summer meadows. These works are not just depictions of nature but poetic reflections on the harmony between humans and the world around them.

Evgeny Viktorovich is an artist capable of seeing greatness in the ordinary. Views of Pereslavl-Zalessky, cozy Moscow streets, endless Russian fields—his canvases are filled with light, warmth, and sincerity. Through them, he awakens in the viewer a sense of connection to Russian culture and nature, offering moments of joy and tranquility.
