The exhibition "Russia. Unique Regions and People" opened in Bratislava

On March 28, 2025, the grand opening of the photo exhibition "Russia. Unique Regions and People" took place at the AIRCRAFT Gallery in Bratislava. The event was organized by the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture. The exposition, compiled from the best works of the "My Russian World" photo contest, showcased to the audience the multifaceted nature of Russian culture, spirituality, and natural wealth.

The exhibition brought together several thematic sections, each revealing different aspects of the Russian world. The "Faces of the Russian World" section featured portraits of people for whom the Russian language and culture have become an integral part of life—both in Russia and abroad. "Memorable Places of the Russian World" transported viewers to picturesque corners of the country: from ancient temples to pristine natural landscapes.

A special place was occupied by photographs from the "Events of the Russian World" category, capturing key moments of the cultural and social life of the Russian-speaking community. The "Artifacts of the Russian World" section showcased objects symbolizing their owners' deep connection to Russian traditions.

The opening ceremony was led by Igor Bondarenko, President of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture and Doctor of Legal Sciences. In his speech, he emphasized that the exhibition is not only a collection of artistic works but also a powerful tool for promoting Russian cultural heritage abroad.

Konstantin Nefyodov, Counselor-Envoy of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Slovakia, delivered a welcoming address. The event was also attended by prominent figures from science and the arts, including Elena Breusova (Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Philological Education and Journalism at Surgut State Pedagogical University), Svetlana Kuznetsova (Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts), and Larisa Zhelondievskaya (Professor at the Stroganov Russian State University of Arts and Industry). The international Russophile community was represented by Professor Jozef Dolník, Chairman of the Slovak-Czech Branch of the International Russophile Movement. Among the guests were journalists from Russian-language media in Slovakia, historians, public figures, as well as students and teachers from Slovakia, Austria, and other countries.

The festive atmosphere was enhanced by a performance from the duo Valentina and Ivan Zelenin of the folk ensemble "Pryalka." Their rendition of folk melodies became a highlight of the evening, serving as a vivid reminder of the richness of Russian musical tradition.

The exhibition "Russia. Unique Regions and People" became a significant event in Bratislava’s cultural life, fostering the strengthening of international ties and dialogue between cultures. This project not only showcases artistic achievements but also opens new opportunities for promoting Russian heritage in Europe.
