
The publication was prepared by the "Veterans of the Diplomatic Service Foundation" under the leadership of the Foundation’s Director, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vladimir Viktorovich Chkhikvadze.
This book is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Slovakia from German fascist occupiers during World War II. The liberation was carried out by the forces of the Red Army, the Romanian Army, the 1st Czechoslovak Army Corps, and partisans. The publication includes archival documents, maps, diagrams, photographs, and historical references covering the period of 1942–1945. It also features contemporary photographs of the burial sites of Soviet soldiers and partisans, as well as commemorative markers and memorial plaques.
The presentation was attended by members of the Slovak Union of Anti-Fascist Fighters, its chairman V. Longauer, the chairman of the Slovak-Czech section of the International Russophile Movement, Prof. J. Dolník, representatives of military-historical clubs and museums from various cities across the country, and members of public organizations. The event included a ceremonial "baptism" of the book, and the project’s executive director, Jurijus Trakšialis, was awarded a commemorative medal by the Slovak Union of Anti-Fascist Fighters.
Representatives of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture took an active part in the event: Vice-President N. Yadryshnikova and Art Director Yu. Krasulya. They engaged in discussions with the project’s executive director, J. Trakšialis, and the Slovak contributors to the publication, discussing the significance of the work and its contribution to preserving historical memory for future generations. Following the meeting and interviews with the event’s guests, N. Yadryshnikova prepared a radio broadcast for the Russian editorial team of Radio Slovakia International. The broadcast is scheduled to air on May 9, 2025.
