On the 30th of March 2017 in the Russian Center in Bratislava at the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture was hosted a seminar on Russian language and culture on the topic "Ballet Swan Lake." Exactly 130 years ago on the stage of the Moscow Bolshoi Theater was performed the first staging of the legendary ballet under the music of P.I. Tchaikovsky. The seminar was conducted for students of Russian language courses and was dedicated to this anniversary.
The presentation was prepared by an intern from Italy - Leticia Gazzola. She told about the history of the creation of the ballet, about its triumphal procession around the scenes of the whole world and amazing music. She also spoke about the best performer of the role of Princess Odette - Italian ballerina Pierina Legnani, the legendary Dance of the Little Swans, the demonstration of the ballet on television during the putsch in the USSR in 1991.
All participants of the seminar were well acquainted with the famous ballet, and, nevertheless, listened with the interest and asked questions. The discussion touched on the production of the play "Swan Lake" in the Slovak People's Theater, in the ballet troupe of which there are many dancers from Russia. The ballet itself is constantly in the repertoire.
The result of the seminar was the acquaintance of the listeners with the masterpiece of Russian culture, as well as the expansion of vocabulary. The performance was accompanied by photos and videos on the screen, which were shown under musical fragments from the ballet.
