Opening of the Russian Centre in Bratislava
On the 30 of March 2016 in Bratislava, in the European fundation of Slavic Script and Culture, the Russian Centre was opened.

The opening ceremony was attended by officials, public figures, representatives of the creative intelligence, students of Russian philology and grammar. There were also friends and partners Arrived from other cities of Slovakia, Austria and Hungary. The procedure was started with the cutting of red stripe. Guests were greeted by the women in Russian national costumes and young people in T-shirts with symbols of the «Russian world». Then, according to the folk tradition of the Russian Centre premises were consecrated by the Emeritus Archbishop of Prague and Metropolitan of the Czech Lands and Slovakia Christopher. The guests got acquainted with the centre and its capabilities. The celebration continued in the halls of Aircraft Gallery.

Opening of the Russian Centre in BratislavaThe Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Slovakia, A.L. Fedorov welcomed the guests and wished success to the Russian Centre. Executive Director of the «Russian World» Fund V. Kochin also welcomed the participants and expressed the basic idea that should be embodied in the opened centre. It must become not only a place of cultural communication for citizens of Russia, compatriots and their descendants, but also to be a centre of attraction for foreign citizens who speak Russian, and those who love Russian culture.

Sechik who supported the creation of one more cultural centre in Bratislava that will contribute to the strengthening of ties and friendship between our peoples. The ceremony was attended by the ambassador of Belarus V. Serpikov, Spanish Ambassador Felix Valdes, minister-counsellor of the Embassy of Brazil.

Bondarenko welcomed guests of the ceremony and invited them to participate in future activities of the Russian Centre, he also spoke about opening of the Russian language courses.

All participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibits of three exhibitions which were held at the same time in the Aircraft gallery. Unique art exhibition was held in the framework of the International academic research project «Between the Volga and the Danube», that combined artists from Russia and 10 European countries of the Danube basin: Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Poland, Ukraine and Moldova.

Opening of the Russian Centre in BratislavaWithin the framework of the art exhibition «Environmental Art» works of well-known Slovak artists were presented - works of painter Milan Bortonya and works of photo-painter Miro Gazidlo.

At the end of the event the concert was held, at which the Slovak singer who had a trainee in Mariinsky Theatre, Dodo Ivashka sang Russian songs and romances. The decoration of the evening was the performance of the ensemble of Russian compatriots «Girls» in the beautiful national costumes.

By the tradition, all the guests were welcomed by a glass of wine, and a banquet was organized at the end of the event.

The event was widely represented in the Slovak media. Russian service of Slovak Radio conducted numerous interviews. Journalists and representatives of TASR and SITA news agencies hurried to report about an important cultural event.
