April 21, 2017 in Bratislava in the framework of the action "Days of Russian Culture" in the hall of the Russian Center of Science and Culture was held a concert of artists from Karelia. At the invitation of the Russian Center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture, a delegation of cultural workers from Petrozavodsk arrived in Bratislava.
The delegation included teachers from Petrozavodsk State University, actors and musicians. The organizers of the action "Days of Russian Culture" in Bratislava were the Russian Center of the European Foundation for Slavic Writing and Culture, the Russian Center for Science and Culture and the Department of Culture of Petrozavodsk with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

The program of the evening included a solo performance based on A.S. Pushkin "Snowstorm" in the performance of the actress of Petrozavodsk Theater of Poetry "Credo" - I. Gaevskaya, who also read poems in the ancient Karelian dialect. The performance was accompanied by musical illustrations of G. Sviridov. The concert featured works of Russian composers and folk songs in the virtuoso performance of accordionist D. Gorodnichin - laureate of All-Russian and international competitions, head of the Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments of the Children's Music School No. 1 named after Helmer Sinisalo of Petrozavodsk city.
The concert gathered compatriots of different ages, and also there were children. All the audience listened with interest to the performances of the artists, and then enthusiastically answered the quiz questions "Do you know Russia?", which the guests from Karelia held at the end of the concert. The winners of the quiz were awarded souvenirs, brought from the original Russian northern edge of Karelia.
The audience was warmly welcomed by the Head of Culture and Public Relations Department of the Administration of Petrozavodsk city - Sergei Soloviev, who spoke about the Karelian region, its traditions and rich culture.
Before the beginning of the concert, the Russian Center invited Irina Sechikova - The head of the Russian Service of the Slovak Radio, who interviewed members of the delegation. They expressed their enthusiastic impressions of visiting bilingual gymnasiums in Bratislava, Slovak youth, high-level of Russian language of students, talked about the closeness of cultures and the warmth of relations.
They expressed special gratitude to the “Russian World” Foundation, with the support of which such a significant humanitarian action took place.
