On the 29th of June 2017 in the Russian Center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture in Bratislava was held an Open Day.
Students from the Secondary Vocational School, located not far from the Russian Center on Ivanska Street, came to visit Center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture. The school trains masters of various professions, including computer technicians, electricians, carpenters, bricklayers, painters, plumbers, etc. The training program includes the study of foreign languages, including Russian Language.
The whole class was invited to the Russian Center by a teacher who wanted to introduce students possibilities of studying the Russian language, of the library and other resources of the center. Students came to Bratislava from different cities with the desire to get a profession. All of them live in boarding schools, away from families, so they were interested in cultural events.
The students listened with interest to the history of the creation of the Russian Center, the activities of the "Russian World" Foundation, the proximity of the cultures of the Slavic peoples, and the close humanitarian and business ties between Russia and Slovakia. They were presented with a library, as well as publications of the series "The Life of Remarkable People", presented at the exhibition of books "The History of Russian Culture in Persons".
At the end of the meeting all the guests received Russian sweets. Many of them expressed interest in courses and in the library. They also expressed the desire to attend exhibitions and other events.
