On the 27th of September 2017 in Bratislava in the cinema Lumiere (Kino Lumiere), was held the opening ceremony of the film festival "Days of Russian Cinema". The festival has already become traditional and will last for a week.
The festival opened with the film "Anna Karenina: The History of Vronsky" by the famous Russian producer Karen Shakhnazarov. Dramaturgy of the work of the famous Russian writer Lev Tolstoy, unique large-scale video shooting, accurate historical interiors and costumes, modern special effects made a strong impression on the audience.
Reports from the opening of the festival, the press conference and the master class were conducted by the central channels of the Slovak Radio and Television.
The Russian center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture provided informational support to the film festival. At the opening ceremony were invited compatriots, teachers of the Russian language, students of courses and students of the gymnasium named after Ivan Horvat.
The program of the festival also included novelties of the film distribution, the best Russian films released in 2016-2017: "The Duelist", "The Good Boy", "Queen of Spades", "Collector", "Earthquake" and "Paradise".
Within the framework of the film festival Karen Shakhnazarov held a master class for students of the School of Fine Arts in Bratislava. Students and teachers asked a lot of questions about the modern technologies for making films, the differences between the movie and the television series, the criterias for choosing actors, the role of lighting, and others.
Movie viewing also took place in the House of Culture (Dom Umenia) in Peshtyany city.
