On the 10th of November 2017 in Bratislava, the Third Scientific and Practical Conference of Rusists "Modern Russian Language as a Foreign Language in School: New Trends" was held.
The conference was organized by the Association of Rusists of Slovakia with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
The conference room of the "Incheba" exhibition complex brought together teachers of the Russian language as a foreign language from schools and gymnasiums, universities and various courses. The aim of the conference was to develop common approaches of teaching and choosing textbooks.
The main speakers were specialists from Russia. The report of the professor, doctor of philology, writer M.A. Cronhaus "The Russian Language of the XXI Century" aroused genuine interest. The peculiarities of the formation of modern language caused the ongoing processes - the restructuring of the political structure and economy, the emergence of the Internet and mobile communications, the development of financial relations and other.
Almost every speech caused an active discussion. Educators expressed their point of view, gave assessments of teaching textbooks and methods, talked about the importance of incorporating the culturological aspect in teaching and in moral principles.
The Russian center in Bratislava of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture took part in the conference and invited all its teaching staff. The magazines "Russian World".Ru", which were in great demand, were distributed in the foyer.
In the second part of the conference there were presentations of four Russian-Slovak bilingual gymnasiums from the cities of Bratislava, Koshice and Vrable.
