Opening of the exhibition "The Great Silk Road: Yangtze / Volga / Danube"

On the 23d of November 2017, in Bratislava, in the gallery "Aircraft Gallery" a unique art exhibition within the framework of the International Exhibition Project "Great Silk Road: Yangtze / Volga / Danube" was opened, bringing together artists from Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and China.

Leading humanitarian associations of Russia, Slovakia and China were the organizers and partners of this large-scale project. Among them were: the Creative Union of Russian Artists, the European Center of Fine Arts, the Russian Academy of Arts, the Volga Region Department of the Russian Academy of Arts, the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture, the Russian Center in Bratislava of the Fund "Russian World ", the European Academy of Security and Conflictology, the Ministry of Culture of the Saratov region, the Saratov State Art Museum named after A.N. Radishchev, the Moscow Exhibition Hall "A3 Gallery", the Museum of Russian Art "Liu Minxiu" (Harbin, China), the Confucius Institute of the Far Eastern Federal University, the Society of Russian-Chinese Friendship, and the "Berlin Selected Artists" Company (Berlin, Germany).

The head and the author of the project was The chairman of the Volga region branch of the Russian academy of arts, the well-known Russian artist Konstantin Khudyakov. The project was based on the ideas of the great Slavic humanist of the 17th century, Yan Amos Komensky, who laid the foundations of European enlightenment.

Special greetings to the organizers and participants were sent by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, the President of the Russian Academy of Arts, People's Artist of the USSR and Russia Zurab Tsereteli, The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the European Center of Fine Arts, Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Professor Igor Bondarenko.

The international project lasts for six months and is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The exhibition has already been presented in the Museum of Russian Art "Liu Minsiu" (Harbin, China), the State Art Museum named after A.N. Radishchev (Saratov, Russia), IEC "A3 Gallery" (Moscow, Russia) and now this project is presented in the gallery of the "Aircraft Gallery" of the European Center of Fine Arts (Bratislava, Slovakia).

This project is intended to show the broadest spectator the latest trends in contemporary art of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and China, which appeared on the background of notable changes in the social-political and cultural reality of the last 15 years.

 

The traveling exhibition "Great Silk Road: Yangtze / Volga / Danube" includes 150 works of artists from Russia, China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which grouped in equal shares on 50 topics.

The implementation of such a large-scale International Exhibition Project "Great Silk Road: Yangtze / Volga / Danube" gave a rare opportunity to compare the creative approaches of artists from different countries and get unusual creative dialogues.

Undoubtedly, the project, based on mutual respect for the historical and cultural heritage of the participating states, contributes to the further strengthening of cultural ties and develops dialogues between different cultures. The opening of the exhibition in Bratislava was a cultural event of the year.
