On the 24th of May 2018 in the Russian Center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture in Bratislava an open lesson on Russian language and culture, dedicated to the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture, was held. This topic is well known to Slovak schoolchildren, as Cyril and Methodius began their educational activities from the territory of today's Slovakia.
The guests of the two senior classes of the Ivan Horvat bilingual gymnasium from the city of Bratislava came for a visit together with their teachers. This gymnasium is not the first time to come to the Russian Center, but today came only new students. In the gymnasium, the Russian language is taught in intensive courses and subjects are also taught in Russian.
The open lesson consisted of two parts. At first the students got acquainted with the activities of the Russian Center, with its library, computer class and other resources. Teacher conducted a lesson in the form of a game, highlighting the words that coincide in Russian and Slovak Languages. Students showed good knowledge of the Russian language, answered questions and shared their knowledge.
The second part of the lesson was devoted to the World War II. The students visited the interactive exhibition "War and Myths", expositions of which convincingly expose falsifiers of history, who are trying to rewrite the events of the World War II in their own way.
After visiting the exhibition, all students returned to the Russian Center, where the quiz was conducted. It was suggested to recall the facts shown on the exhibition stands and to give the assessment on the shown materials. The winners were awarded with Russian chocolates.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and ended with tea drinking with Russian sweets.
