On the 9th of April 2019 in the Russian center of the European Fund of Slavic Literature and Culture in Bratislava, a seminar on the Russian language on the theme “Ethnic and religious diversity of Russia” was held.
The famous Czech travel writer Frantisek Hrabal participated in the seminar. He visited Russia many times, explored its most remote corners, visited Siberia, the Russian North and the Far East, Taimyr, Yamal and Chukotka. In his travels, the writer studied the ethnic diversity of the Russian regions.
Chuvashia, Mari El, Udmurtia, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Ugra - he described the life and traditions of these peoples in his books. His books “Road to Taimyr. From the Yenisei to the Arctic Ocean", "Road to the ends of the earth. Wanderings on the Arctic tundra, the Siberian taiga and the Caucasian mountains", "From Bratislava to Yamal" and "From Yamal to Chukotka" were published by one of the oldest Czech-Slovak private publishing house CAD PRESS. Publishing house has more than 40 years of experience in publishing books on indigenous cultures and traditions.
At the seminar, the author shared numerous travel stories and impressions about Russia. The seminar was attended by students of Russian language courses.
