The Russian center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture in Bratislava opens a new project – “Sunday Readings”. The aim of the project is to introduce children and adults who speak Russian or are just learning it to great Russian literature.
On November 17, 2019, the first lesson titled “Reading Together” was held as part of this project. Many children and adults came to participate. At first, they got acquainted with the activities of the Russian Center, the library fund and other opportunities to to study Russian culture.
The lesson was held in a fun interactive way. At first, participants read aloud the amazing work of Eugene Schwartz, "The Tale about a Lost Time." Then they discussed the details of this absolutely incredible detective story about children who instantly turned into old people and analyzed how it could happen. The investigation has not ended and will continue on the next “Sunday readings”.
At the end of the lesson, the teachers discussed with parents the role of reading in the child’s learning, the speed of reading and understanding of texts, ways of intellectual development of bilingual children.
