Webinar for Russian teachers on the topic “Transfer to online learning. Useful resources and services“

On April 30, 2020 a webinar for teachers of Russian language and literature on the topic "Transfer to online learning. Useful resources and services.” was held in Bratislava. The organizer was the Russian Center of Science and Culture. A lecture on modern interactive technologies was prepared by Victoria Aleshina, a teacher of Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) at Tula State University.

The webinar was attended by teachers of Slovak schools, Russian language teachers of gymnasiums and universities from various cities of Slovakia - Bratislava, Preshov, Koshitse, Vrabla, Shiroke, Vranova-na-Tople and others, as well as Russianists from European countries.

The lecturer spoke about the features of using such platforms as Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, Discord and others for distance learning. She noted the pros and cons of each platform, answered questions from participants of the webinar.

Natalya Chumak - head of courses at the Russian Center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture in Bratislava - demonstrated examples of interactive exercises for students based on the Zoom platform.

Then the participants shared their experiences and best practices in the field of online learning. The director of the Russian school in Bratislava, Joseph Bacha, spoke about the features of conducting distance lessons with children. Gabriela Oravtsova, a methodologist at the Russian Center in Preshov at Preshov University, spoke about the experience of switching to online education in a university environment.

Colleagues shared their professional discoveries in the information space, expressed a unanimous opinion on the benefits of such webinars and the desire to continue such meetings.
