On May 11, 2020, an open lesson "Lesson of Victory" in Russian was held for students from the city of Levitse. It was dedicated to the Victory in World War II over the Nazis.
The Russian center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture conducts a series of "Lessons of Victory" in Slovak schools and gymnasiums.
The lesson was remotely attended by schoolchildren studying the Russian language, and teachers of the Russian language from the Levitse city school.
The lesson took the form of a conversation. First, the students got acquainted with the story of the battles that took place 75 years ago in the vicinity of Levitse and on the outskirts of the city of Nitra, which is located 40 km from Levitse. Then the guys talked about the monument of the Red Army in the area, which is located on the place where Marshal of the USSR Rodion Malinovsky stayed. He led the liberation of Slovakia by forces of the 2nd Ukrainian Front.
Schoolchildren got acquainted with a new military vocabulary , learned about the traditions of the celebration of Victory Day in Russia and in other countries. They also watched videos of the war years. Genuine interest was caused by the history of the interaction of Slovak partisans with fighters of the Red Army.
As their teacher Vladimir Mosienko said, the shoolchildren themselves admitted that for them it was a significant step in studying the series of military events in the final stage of World War II and in studying the exploits of the heroes of this war.
The materials of the Victory Lesson were transferred from the Russian Center to the school for further use in Russian language lessons.
