Russian Sundays

On March 13, 2021, the Russian Center in Bratislava took part in the III International Cultural and Educational Online Project "Russian Saturdays".

The conference was organized by the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (IATRLL), Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Association of Russianists of Slovakia (ARS), Literary Institute named after A.M. Gorky and the Society of Russian Literature.

The event was attended by about 280 people from 10 countries of the world.

The idea of holding "Russian Saturdays" belongs to the vice-rector of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education (RAE) T.V. Kortava and the Chairman of the Russian Academy of Education (RAE), Professor Eva Kollarova.

The main aim of the project was determined by T.V. Kortava - “to show the power of the unity of thought, word and artistic image in strengthening and expanding the Russian cultural and humanitarian space in the world”.

Welcoming remarks were made by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor O. Yu. Vasilieva; Vice-Rector of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education, Vice-President of IATRLL T.V. Kortava; President of the Association of Russianists in Slovakia, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Russian language in the center of Europe", professor Eva Kollarova. They noted the importance of these meetings in a difficult period for the whole world of the pandemic and the closure of borders and set them a high bar, comparing them with religious and philosophical meetings of the last century.

The guest of honor at this meeting was the writer, academician of the Academy of Russian Contemporary Literature, laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, laureate of the "Big Book" Prize - P.V. Basinsky. The creative meeting "Returned Paradise" about contemporary literary trends did not leave anyone indifferent. There were a lot of questions, but all received an exhaustive answer.

Within the framework of the round table, a report was made by the head of the Russian Center in Preshov, director of the Institute of Russianists Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Preshov, vice-president of the Association of Russianists in Slovakia, Professor Lubomir Guzi. The professor shared his research on the topic “90s in Russia. Were they dashing? "

V.V. Chastnykh, Director of the Institute of Russian Language and Culture of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, spoke about his experience of working with the "Yasnaya Polyana" Museum.

The speech of the  Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Benin in the Russian Federation, Director General of the International Coordination Council of Graduates of Educational Institutions, Associate Professor of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov - A.G. Kochof ended with enthusiastic comments in the chat after reading the poems of A.S. Pushkin and the phrase: “ Being Russian is a state of mind. "

Also, honorary scientists and teachers from different countries took part in the international online conference.
