On September 18, 2023, in honor of the birthday of Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky, the thematic event “Konstantin Tsiolkovsky – dreams of space” was held at the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture.
September 9 marks the 195th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian writer, publicist, and thinker - Leo Tolstoy.
Leo Tolstoy was born in 1828 in Yasnaya Polyana in the Tula region, where he spent a significant part of his life. He lived in various Russian cities, and visited France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Britain, but always returned to his native land. He drew inspiration and created works there. His works continue to be shown on the world's screens and are the basis for famous theatres.
September 8 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the people's poet of Dagestan, prose writer, translator, and public figure Rasul Gamzatovich Gamzatov. His works are loved by many generations of readers, and the famous lines of poetry: “Sometimes it seems to me that the soldiers who did not return from the bloody fields did not once die in our land, but turned into white cranes,” became an ode to soldiers all over the world.

The sound of the school bell, big white bows,bouquets of flowers and loud music coming from every schoolyard are traditionalattributes of Knowledge Day, which is celebrated on 1 September. Thisholiday is associated with the return of students to the classrooms after thesummer holidays.
On the bank of the longest Slovak river Váh in the picturesque village Šoporňa was traditionally held the eighth year of the Film camp, which took place also thanks to the Fund for the Promotion of the Culture of National Minorities in Slovakia.
