European Foundation for Slavic Script and Culture

On the 10th of November 2016 in the Russian Center was hosted a discussion on "The image of Russia in the Slovak media and its impact on the public debate." As a basis for the discussion was the performance of the head of the Russian Center, Executive Director of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture Alexander Bushuev. He acquainted participators with the results of the International Conference on the theme "Civil society, the media and the authorities, Russian and European experience", which was held on the 2nd of November in Moscow.

On the 13th of October 2016 at the University Library in Bratislava was hosted a conference on the theme "The holy brothers Cyril and Methodius and their spiritual heritage in the culture of Russia and Slovakia", which was held in the framework of the Conference "Days of Russia in Slovakia."
Ther Conference was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Slovak Republic and with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo.

On the 13th of October 2016 in Bratislava at the theater "Nova scene" was held a ceremony of opening of the Festival of Russian Culture "Days of Russia in Slovakia." The opening was attended by officials of Russia and Slovakia, with a welcoming speech of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Slovak Republic, A.L. Fedotov.

29.09.2016 in Bratislava was held 5th international conference «Russia and Europe: current problems of current international journalism».

The aim of the conference was to discuss such topical issues as the validity of the information and criteria for responsible media.

On 26.09.2016 in Bratislava on one of the main squares of the city was held the European Day of Languages, which is carried out for 16 years on the initiative of the Council of Europe. The main purpose of the event is to support the motivation of Europeans to learn foreign languages not only in schools and universities, but also throughout their lives.

The 22d of June, 1941 is a tragic day in thehistory of our country. On this day, the Great Patriotic War had started. Itlasted for 1,418 days and nights, and killed 26.6 million Soviet citizens - military personnel and civilianswho died from hunger, cold, bombing, mass genocide which had been conducted bythe invaders on the Soviet territory. Since 1996, the first day of the war wasdeclared  as a memorable date - "Dayof Remembrance and Sorrow"
